The EHIC card includes basic life-saving care. This card will give you the right to access state-provided healthcare during a temporary stay (6-months max) in Spain or another European country. This card will only cover necessary medical treatment, it will not cover the ongoing treatment.

What is a temporary SIP card?

If you don’t have the conditions to obtain the permanent SIP card, you can apply for a temporary one. This card gives you a basic healthcare cover in the Valencia Community. If you need to go to Emergency, they will assist you and you don’t need to pay for it

The problem with this card is that you can’t visit a doctor in Spain, you can only access primary care . Also, this card has an expired date, and you must renew it every 6 months.

To get a temporary card you must register in the Padron and get a social security number. If you need a problem with this, please do not hesitate to contact us.
