Requirements

Non-Lucrative Visa requirements in Spain

You need more than enough money in the bank. Your application must show that you meet the personal, financial and insurance requirements for residence in Spain.

01

Financial means

The current reference for 2026 is €28,800 per year for the main applicant and an additional €7,200 per year for each family member included in the application.

These funds may come from a pension, savings, investments, rental income or other documented sources. The origin, availability and presentation of the money can influence how the consulate assesses it.

We review your evidence before you submit the application so you know whether it clearly supports the amount you need to demonstrate.

02

Private health insurance

You need private health insurance valid in Spain and suitable for a residence application. A travel policy or a plan with unsuitable limitations may not meet the consular requirement.

We check what your insurance certificate needs to show before it is added to your application.

03

Personal and consular requirements

You must hold a valid passport and provide the required medical certificate, criminal record certificate and evidence that you legally reside within the area covered by your Spanish consulate.

Some foreign documents also need a sworn translation, apostille or legalisation. We identify these requirements early so you can prepare them in the correct order.

Planning the applying

Applying for a Non-Lucrative Visa with your family

A family application must be planned around the number of people moving, their relationship to the main applicant and the total funds available.

The financial requirement increases for each additional family member. You will also need documents proving the marriage, partnership, parentage or dependency involved in the application.

We prepare the applications together so the financial evidence, personal information and family documents remain consistent across the whole file.

Why us

Why apply with Advisors Costa Blanca?

A visa application affects your plans to live in Spain, so it requires more than a standard checklist. We assess your situation, prepare the application for the correct consular route and help you avoid problems before submission.

01

We identify the right visa for your plans

Before you begin gathering documents, we review your circumstances and confirm which residence route best fits your plans. If another type of visa is more appropriate, we will tell you from the outset.

02

We prepare and review your application carefully

Your requirements are adapted to your country of residence and the consulate handling your application. We review the documents in advance and flag missing, inconsistent or unsuitable evidence while there is still time to correct it.

03

You receive clear support from the same team

Your consultation and application can be handled entirely in English, without having to explain your situation to a different person each time. Before we begin, you will also know what the service includes and how much it will cost.
